EuroShop

The Global Retail Trade Fair

EuroShop-Logo

EuroShop is the world's biggest capital goods show for the retail business. The EuroShop themes range from shopfitting, store design and architecture to lighting and refrigeration, from visual merchandising, displays and POP marketing to IT and security technology. Initiated in 1966 by EHI, it has since been organised by Messe Duesseldorf with the expert assistance of EHI.

EuroShop 2008 has been staged from February 23 to 27 in Dusseldorf. The number of exhibitors climbed by 252 new participants from 1,659 to 1,911 – up by some 15 percent. Rentals of net floor space rose by 13 percent from 94,825 square metres in 2005 to 107,100 square metres. Hailing from more than 90 countries, 104,000 trade visitors attended, equivalent to 14 percent or 13,000 more than three years ago. Among the exhibitors, some 54 percent are based abroad, while 58 percent of visitors arrived from outside Germany

EuroShop covers a broad spectrum of exhibits and is therefore divided into four sections:

  • EuroConcept (shopfitting, store design, lighting, refrigerating equipment, building utilities)
  • EuroSales (visual merchandising, POP marketing, displays)
  • EuroCIS (IT and security technology)
  • EuroExpo (architecture, design, events)

The EuroCIS section takes place as a separate show annually, and every three years is integrated into EuroShop. The EuroExpo segment simultaneously is one of the most important events for the exhibition stand construction industry. The EuroExpo event every autumn in Düsseldorf is a major meeting place for the industry.

Numerous international congresses and events take place parallel to EuroShop. The key highlights are the Architects’ and Designers’ Day, the EuroShop POP Conference and the Retail Innovation Conference.
